Humulin Insulin N is an isophane insulin human suspension [NPH] U-100. It is an intermediate-acting human insulin. It is used to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients. Humulin N is offered in a prefilled disposable insulin pen.

What is dosage of Humulin Insulin N KwikPen?

Humulin Insulin N KwikPen (“Pen”) is a disposable single-patient-use prefilled pen containing 300 units of HUMULIN N. You can give yourself more than one dose from the Pen. Each turn (click) of the Dose Knob dials one unit of Insulin. You can administer from 1 to 60 units in a single injection.

It can be administered subcutaneously in the abdominal wall, thigh, upper arm, or buttocks. The patient should rotate the injection site to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy and localized cutaneous amyloidosis. Your doctor will adjust the dosage based on metabolic needs and glucose monitoring trends.

Humulin Insulin N is available as an injectable suspension of 100 units per mL (U-100) in the following formats:

Humulin can be mixed with other Insulin, and the mixture solution can be injected immediately without waiting. It can be used with prandial Insulin if indicated. Humulin N may be mixed with Humulin R or Humalog before injection.

Humulin Insulin N may be used with prandial Insulin if indicated. Humulin N may be mixed with Humulin R or Humalog before injection.

  • While mixing HUMULIN N with HUMULIN R, HUMULIN R should be drawn into the syringe first.
  • While mixing HUMULIN N with HUMALOG, HUMALOG should be drawn into the syringe first.

Remember that regular physical exercise is crucial to treating diabetes or managing prediabetes, along with your diet planning, weight management, and medications. Because your cells become more responsive to insulin while you are active, your blood glucose, also known as blood sugar, can be lowered more successfully. Take your medications regularly and follow up with your healthcare specialist.
